We want you to have dinner with us, and in our opinion, there is no better dinner food than Swedish husman. Husman is about cooking wholesome food from scratch - using anything that is in season. That’s why we cook it. Sometimes completely according to tradition but often with a modern touch.

We change and update the menu according to the season, but there is always a dish of the week. A household classic at an extra favorable price. Every day we cook a limited number of portions, so it’s first come, first served!

Meet the family

Liam

One of Axet's founders, restaurant and bar manager, Liam, began his career on the London nightclub scene in 2006. After gathering restaurant experience from large parts of the world, love brought him to Sweden in 2016. Here he continued his career at several of Gothenburg's most famous bars until In November 2022, he started the Axet pub. Liam has a passion for beer, cocktails and Tottenham Hotspurs. We'll leave the latter at that, but we love pilsners and cocktails! Trained as a Tapster in Plzen, he is an expert on beer in all its forms. Through his creativity and precision behind the bar, he creates innovative cocktail cards and breathes new life into old classics. With passionate British hospitality, Liam and his team will do everything to make you feel comfortable with us at Krog Axet.

Tove och Eskil

Tove and Eskil own Axet together with Liam. Raised in Gothenburg, they learned to love pub life in the city at classic places such as Kompaniet, Cue club, Nefertiti, Klaras and Sticky Fingers at the end of the 20th century. Then life came in between, with family and teacher training. Krögarbanan was started in 2007 when they got the opportunity and honor to take over Golden Prague.A lot has happened since then, there have been more restaurants, breweries and wine imports. Axet is the family's fourth and youngest pub member. The feeling for the rustic and genuine, for the atmosphere and for the mood, is present in all places.The goal is to create the ultimate neighborhood pub, it should be popular and homey - the place where everyone feels at home and where everyone is a regular - regardless of whether your passion is food and conversation, berries or cocktails.

Oskar

Chef Oskar has been with Axet from the start. Alongside the cabinetmaking school, he started training as a chef at the Skara city hotel already at the age of 12. Since then, the profession of cooking has taken him around the world. After trying all the world's food, he came to the conclusion that so many of us do - Swedish food is the best. That is why he came to land in Gothenburg. Via the kitchen at iconic places such as Smaka, Elite Plaza and Red Lion, he ended up here at Axet. When Oskar took over as head chef in 2023, his passion for husman left an impression on the menu immediately. With a sense of tradition and with curiosity for new flavors, he cooks, based on seasonal ingredients, rustic food from scratch for all occasions.Oskar, with his big heart from Schlätta, is happy to come out to the premises and introduce both himself and his food.
